Originally from Lubbock, Texas, Julie Brister is an actress, improviser and writer based in Los Angeles. She plays Marva Jefferson on the Amazon series Goliath, starring Billy Bob Thornton. She also played Daisy the attorney on Comedy Central’s Review, starring Andy Daly. Other TV credits include Adam Ruins Everything (TruTV), Do You Want to See a Dead Body (YouTube Red) Transparent (Amazon), Brooklyn Nine-Nine (FOX), Playing House (USA), Parks and Recreation (NBC), Dr. Ken (ABC), Comedy Bang Bang (IFC), Newsreaders (Adult Swim), Onion News Network (IFC), New Girl (FOX), Good Luck Charlie (Disney), Rules of Engagement (CBS), Reno 911 (Comedy Central), Conan (TBS) and many more.
Julie has been a part of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater community since she started taking classes there in NYC in 1997. She started teaching improv at UCBNY in 2001 and currently teaches at UCBLA. She performed her solo-show Fatparts at UCBLA and at a garden variety of comedy festivals including SF Sketchfest and Out of Bounds in Austin.
Julie lives in Mount Washington with her dog Wolfgang and loves quiche, owls and campfires.
